A 100-inch floor-rising screen for a garden-room cinema
A cinema display that rises for movie sessions and retracts for everyday room use.

Project Overview
This private garden-room cinema uses a 100-inch MGF MFR Floor-Rising Tab-Tension Screen with UST Black Grid ALR material and a nearby ultra-short-throw projector. The three-seat room combines movie viewing with everyday use, with the screen retracting into its floor housing between sessions.

How the MGF Solution Works
A retractable 100-inch image
The MFR screen rises from its floor housing for movies and retracts afterwards.
A surface for the UST setup
UST Black Grid ALR material is paired with the ultra-short-throw projector at the front of the room.
Shading alongside the screen
Adjustable shading at the glazed opening provides control over light entering the viewing area.

Use the projector’s installation drawing
For another installation, confirm the actual optical reference, chassis position, vertical offset and ventilation. A throw-ratio calculation is not a cabinet-depth specification.
Coordinate the full deployed position
Match the projector support height to the selected screen’s normal deployed image. Keep the UST light path and screen mechanism clear.
Review lighting and shading together
ALR does not replace control of direct sunlight. Evaluate the selected projector, material orientation and room lighting as a complete system.
Project Outcomes
How the screen configuration supports the room’s use.
A cinema image when required
The 100-inch display rises for movie sessions and retracts afterwards.
A floor-based screen installation
The housing accommodates the screen without a permanent fixed-frame display on the wall.
Everyday use between screenings
Retracting the screen opens the front of the room for its other uses.
Garden-room screen and UST pairing
A retractable image for a shared room
The three-seat garden-room cinema combines a 100-inch MFR screen, UST Black Grid ALR material and a nearby ultra-short-throw projector. Wireless remote control operates the floor-rising screen, and adjustable shading at the glazed opening supports movie viewing alongside everyday room use.
For another UST installation
Match the selected projector’s installation drawing to the screen’s normal deployed image position. Review furniture height, chassis depth, ventilation and the clear light path together; the ALR surface does not replace shading against direct sunlight.

FAQ
Does ALR remove the need for shading?
No. Control direct sunlight and bright light from the glazing, and review the projector and material orientation under the room’s viewing conditions.
How close can a UST projector sit to the screen?
Use the actual projector installation drawing. Lens reference, chassis position, image offset, ventilation and furniture depth all affect placement.
Can the screen stop at any height?
The permitted adjustment depends on the selected model. Confirm its normal deployed image position and adjustment range before setting the projector height.
What should I send for a similar cinema?
Send the room and glazing layout, seating positions, UST projector model, furniture dimensions, viewing requirements and lighting conditions.
