The way a projection screen is installed affects much more than appearance. It changes the product type, building coordination, cable route, service access, image position and delivery risk. Decide the installation method early—before ceiling work, joinery or electrical rough-in is complete.

A fixed frame is suitable where the screen remains visible. It normally provides a simple structure and reliable surface flatness. Confirm the wall can accept the mounting system, the frame clears speakers and joinery, and installers have enough assembly space.
Check final image height from the seats, not only from an elevation drawing. If speakers sit behind the image, the acoustic wall and screen depth must be coordinated before brackets are fixed.
A wall- or ceiling-surface-mounted motorized screen is easier to access than a fully recessed unit. The housing remains visible, which simplifies inspection but requires agreement on finish and location.
Coordinate structural fixing, power, control, cable concealment and the travel path. The bottom bar must not collide with furniture, displays, doors or people. Use the motorized screen wiring and prewire guide before electrical work.
Recessed installation can create the cleanest interior result, but it has the highest coordination burden. The rough opening, trim, power connection, ventilation if required, access panel and ceiling sequence must match the exact housing—not a generic nominal size.
Do not close the ceiling until the selected model and approved drawing are available. Follow the in-ceiling motorized screen installation checklist and retain service access after completion.
A floor-rising screen works where wall and ceiling installation is undesirable. It can emerge from a cabinet or stand on the floor, depending on the product. Verify the base footprint, deployed height, furniture opening, ventilation, power and user clearance.

Portable screens are intended for repeated setup and storage. Evaluate packed dimensions, case count, vehicle access, crew size, assembly footprint, surface attachment method and safe audience separation. A portable product is not automatically suitable outdoors; weather and anchoring require a separate site plan.
If any building dimension is still provisional, label it as such in the RFQ. The supplier can then identify what must be confirmed before production.
After installation, inspect level, surface condition, travel clearance, controls and stop positions. Run repeated operating cycles appropriate to the manufacturer’s procedure and record the result.
