OEM projects become difficult to control when a product is identified only as “120-inch motorized screen” or “white fixed frame.” A traceable model name connects the commercial request to the physical product, approved material, engineering drawing, factory inspection and shipment record.
Create one controlled identifier for each exact configuration. Link the identifier to visible image dimensions, aspect ratio, material, structure, mounting, control direction, revision and project quantity. Use the same identifier in the RFQ, sample record, drawing, purchase order, packing list, inspection report and service file. When a field changes, issue a new revision or configuration code instead of editing an old file silently.

The same screen family may use different image sizes, ratios, fabrics, black borders, drops, housings, brackets, motors and controls. A generic name cannot tell the installer which drawing to use or the inspector which sample to compare. It also makes spare-part and warranty discussions slower because the shipped configuration is unclear.
Traceability is not bureaucracy for its own sake. It protects the buyer when a project has multiple rooms, mixed configurations or a later replacement order.
Use a short, readable format that can be understood by sales, engineering and production. For example, the internal structure may contain:

The exact syntax is a project decision. The important rule is that every field has a defined meaning and every change is visible. Do not put unconfirmed performance claims, certification codes or delivery promises into the model name.

At RFQ stage, send one line per configuration rather than mixing sizes or materials. When a sample is approved, add the sample code to the configuration record. When the drawing is approved, link its revision. Before shipment, compare the inspection and packing records to the final order—not to an old catalogue.
For an OEM program, add destination market, private-label requirements, spare parts, packaging, language and document format as separate controlled fields. The RFQ guide and sample approval guide can be used as related references.
Avoid claims such as “4K,” “silent,” “outdoor,” “heavy duty,” “fire rated” or “all-in-one” unless the exact configuration has formal evidence and the term is needed for engineering control. Marketing language can create an unintended product promise that production cannot verify.

Every exact configuration needs a traceable line item. Whether that is a new model code or a controlled size suffix depends on the factory system.
It can reference the catalogue family, but it should also include the exact configuration, drawing revision, sample code and quantity.
Follow the project or quality system retention rule. The key is that superseded files remain identifiable and cannot be mistaken for the current revision.
Reissue the affected sample, drawing and commercial records, then obtain the required approval before manufacture.
